To see that information open the App Store then use the search field top right corner of the window to do a search for Motion.
When the window opens for the Motion app look on the right under Information. You can upgrade to El Capitan v Or, see if your Mac can upgrade directly to macOS Sierra Jul 12, AM. What the info at AppStore tells you, is, your hardware doesn't support vers.

Hello Karsten. Glad to see your answer. I am also apprehensive about your posts because the information they contain are overwhelming. I am yet on FCPX I edit with background render turned off. I don't at all mind this 'slow' work as, in your words, I am not working for the press! When I clicked upon this button it just took me to the application but I found that there are no more updates being on offer!
Will this version be able to handle Motion 5. Looked up the system requirement for the latest version of FCPX and read but could not understand this:. Though I could not understand the details, based upon the graphics card requirements, I am forming this opinion that my system cannot handle the latest version of FCPX. In such a milieu, can I carry on my video works? Thanks Karsten for giving me a very diluted dose of your sage medicine that my technically weak mind can accept!
Anyway I am mighty glad that I have raised this question otherwise I would have run into many a problem. Apart from going for the risk of buying a pre-owned Mac, could a [new] Mac Mini help me to have a better output? I just do not know what a Mac Mini does but you seem to do 4k video editing on it! Friends with latest, much much faster PCs and Adobe Premiere get a jaw drop when I'm showing them my junkyard.
You are rich Karsten. You spend a lot of time in writing extremely informative posts helping many who are the deep waters of video editing. Anyway, your own wisdom has enabled you to churn out 'jaw dropping' performances with the resources you have now that you didn't have, say, 2 years back! I am sure that in another 2 years time things will be better for you because those who water others will themselves be watered.
As for me, since I lack your skills and knowledge, it will be tough to get out a 'Karsten-like' performance were I to buy a Mac Mini. I have already 'won the lottery' and am planning for go for the 5k 27 inch iMac having 2TB fusion drive and pray [with a smile] that when you win your lottery you will be able to buy the beast [iMac Pro] and all that is in your heart.
